Fun at Funky Fairy Land/WOYWW

Things have been a little up & down in Funky Fairy land as several of our DT members have left us for pastures new . . . so we wish Ria, Lorraine, Emma, Anne & Joanne all the very best with their "Crafting Adventures" and we hope that they will still join in with us in future challenges.

Now we have exciting news to share with you all . . . a new look challenge blog . . . !

After much deliberation we have decided that we needed a "Winter Spring Clean" and therefore we will be radically over hauling the blog over the next week, so keep popping back as we will be dropping little hints as to what is happening to the blog and of course, there will be a few surprises too ! !

Taking the above into consideration, there will be no challenge this week but we will be back with avengence next week, Wednesday 24th November with a NEW CHALLENGE, a NEW BLOG and lots of NEW SPONSORS . . . don't panic the ever so generous Shaz (Head Funky Fairy) is still involved . . . so keep popping over . . . you never know what you might find !

Happy crafting,

Fab 'n' Funky DT

Just as well you didn't see my desk a couple of days ago when I was on a colouring spree!! Dustin is having a Super Sale next week with an UNBELEIVABLE number of images up for grabs.. Why not pop on over to Julia's and check out everyone else's desks this week..

Today finds my desk relatively clean...I FINALLY threw out the roses hubby gave me for our anniversary to replace them with a bunch of flowers that my dd Brooke brought for me, just coz she LOVES me :0) I am blessed to have such wonderful, loving, caring kids who mean the world to me...

Tears for Strangers

I have recieved an update regarding Noah Biorkman (previous post) who has taken a turn for the worse and his parents have asked for no more cards to be sent...My thoughts and prayers go to him and his family at this time

In the same instance I heard of a little boy a gorgeous little 6 year old called Max who loves cards so of course I sent him one of Dustin's get well monkeys yesteday and if you'd like to send a card

Max Nunn

MORLEY MI 49336

Then today on Noah's facebook page they are asking if anyone still wanting to send christmas cards could possibly send them to 3 year old Sam

Samuel Anderson

This then lead me to a wonderful organisation called Make a Child Smile. This wonderful site lists ill children that would love to recieve a gard or a gift in the mail from someone.

It also has a link for Love Quilts where donations of squares are accepted for ill children so that quilts can be made and delivered.

This is where I thought of you, my wonderful crafty friends out there in cyberspace...

I sat there with tears running down my face at all these sad stories, the beautiful lives cut way to short. Makes you realise how precious our children are and time together way to brief... but here's a way we can reach out and touch someone else's lives especially at this time of the year...

More Funky Fairy Projects

Haven't been able to get much done with hubby home and the in-laws staying but did manage to get a few more things done from the fab workshop that finished up last week :(

I love this tall box and it even fits the candle that I did a tutorial on...

I also made 2 cards using scraps and left over Vintage images but I can only show you one as the other is for the next Funky Fairy Challenge (exciting things happening there...watch this space)

I was REALLY nervous with my first tutorial (castle album) but once I knew how to do it, they are fun and I enjoyed making "tutes" for a candle and christmas planner

Not sure how much I am going to get done the rest of this week..we are experiencing a heatwave here in Oz...and it isnt even Summer yet...I'm MEEEEEEELTTTINNNG!!!

Thanks for dropping by, sorry if you missed out on this great workshop but be sure and join up if there's another one offered..you'll LOVE it!!!

Funky Fairy/WOYWW

Now onto this weeks challenge . . . all the "Funky Fairy's" seem to have been "time warped" back into another dimension and we have gone all . . . .

" R e T r O "

The DT have had a "blast" and a "really Groovy time" making their projects this week, so make sure you check out their "cool" inspirational projects for all you "dudes and dudettes" . . .

We can't wait to see how you will interprate the theme this week and don't forget everyone is welcome to participate. You can also combine our challenges with any other challenges "out there man" (this retro lingo is getting to familiar now !) However don't forget enjoy yourself and have FUN playing along with the "Funky Fairy's".

That time of the week again to show you what is going on with my workspace...besides doing the fab Funky Fairy's Christmas Workshop there is almost zero crafting going on at my place so here is my desk today.... make sure you pop on over to Julia's and check out what all the other WOYWWer's are up to...

Speaking of the workshop..... this card was made using scraps and another one of the FAB Vintage images

and this tree is the project for Day 7..can't say the lollies will last tho, they're already disappearing....

I'm LOVING this workshop and will be sad when it ends today...gulp...

Thank you if you have sent a card to Noah (see yesterdays post)...it was sad picking a card for a dying child the same age as one of my own...touches home how precious family is...and friends... so I thank you friend for stopping by, have a WONDERFUL day and hug your loved ones :0x

A Sad Request

Dustin posted a request on his blog and I thought it was worth passing on...

This is really important. and behalf of a little boy.

"A little boy, who just turned 5 is in the end stages of cancer. The family is celebrating Christmas next week as they don't believe that he will make it until the actual holiday. Noah's Christmas wish this year is that he receives LOTS of Christmas cards. Please consider taking the time to send this little guy a cute Christmas card to make his last Christmas a big holiday for him. "

I verified this on Snopes. Link is here http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/medical/biorkman.asp

Thank you so much for being willing to send a card...
